ABOUT US
Waconda Cultural Association is a service organization for the benefit of the Glen Elder State Park, with a focus on education and preservation of the Waconda Mineral Springs history. WCA has restored the Waconda Springs Replica pool and walking museum and repurposed a visitor center into a mini-museum for Waconda Springs items and education. WCA sponsors the Native American event, The Wakonda Indian Festival, and assists the Park in hosting the Ghostly Storytelling night with legends of the Solomon River Valley and the Springs. An annual fundraiser, Lakefest, is held with the annual Fireworks Display in July. WCA members started a cultural art project in the Park with a 35 foot metal arrow next to the Waconda Visitor and Education building. More projects are planned to expand the Native American history of the Waconda Lake area and develop the opportunities at the State Park.
