St. John's Teacher Subsidy Fund

Mission

Cornerstone was organized to operate solely and exclusively as a charitable and educational organization to strengthen local Catholic communities for future generations by providing, mainly, grants, structured giving and endowment-building to Catholic schools and other mission-supportive organizations.

Profile

In 2005, a group of long-time, dedicated members of the Beloit Catholic community formed an independent 501(c) 3 non-profit legal entity, Cornerstone Charitable Foundation (CCF). The primary objective of CCF has been to identify and provide creative, prudent, and strategic ideas in order to financially support our local Catholic community and ensure viability long into the future rather than being dependent upon year-to-year circumstances. We are continually looking toward the future, and CCF’s efforts have focused on exploring opportunities that present themselves and undertaking initiatives aimed at assisting to educate, evangelize and nurture the Catholic faith in Beloit.

Throughout the years, one of the more focused points of need that constantly bubbles to the surface is the support of our parish school, St. John’s Catholic School. And as is always the case, the costliest, and yet vital, component of any business is human capital – our teachers. Thus, and in appreciation of the efforts to create a better local community and America through the promotion of the faith and the Catholic education provided via St. John's Catholic school, which has been educating students in the Catholic faith since 1879, and understanding the immense impact positive teachers can have on students, long-time, ardent supporters have seeded the St. John's Catholic School Teacher Subsidy Fund to further enhance the merits of the way of life and environment St. John's Catholic School promotes and provides to families and students. The specific purpose of this fund is to allocate annual grant support for teachers' salaries at St. John's Catholic School in Beloit, KS.
